Behind L'rosha is a Saudi designer whose path is as original as her jewellery. Arwa Alsaleh did not begin in design. She began in words, earning a doctorate in literary translation at the University of Leeds, where she learned how a story can cross from one language into another without losing its soul.
Her love of design took her to Central Saint Martins in London, the college behind Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen, with further training from the LVMH group. The turning point came when her two worlds met. She saw that a narrative could be carried into metal and stone just as faithfully as into another tongue.
From that insight she built something new: narrative translated into jewellery. Every L'rosha collection begins as a written story about women and their strength, then it is translated into something you can wear. The medium changed from language to metal and stones. The work stayed the same.
